The combination of low relative humidity levels and increasing northerly flow today will result in conditions favorable for the rapid spread of brush fires. Relative humidities will be lowest this afternoon...dropping into the 20s across the area. Winds will be light this morning... increasing this afternoon to 10 to 15 mph with 20 to 25 mph gusts. The risk will diminish by this evening as relative humidities increase and the winds begin to diminish. Stam Antiques, formerly known as Giles Antiques, is Long Islands finest antiques and fine art gallery. Since 1972, the year Mr Steven Stam opened his first gallery, he has been buying, selling and appraising antique furniture and objects ranging between late 16th and early 19th century, as well as art works from Old Masters to Modern Masters. 
 
Showing in the gallery at any given time you may find etchings by Rembrandt and Whistler, 16th century Flemish and 17th century Dutch paintings, through a collection of well listed 19th century American and European artist, all the way up to modern and contemporary works, such as Picasso pottery or by the Long Island artist Ross Bleckner ...paintings purchased directly from the artist's mother. 
 
Antiques may range from a rare "collectors cabinet" from Genoa circa 1590, signed Georges Jacob Louis XVI armchair, several American federal period (1780s - 1815) game tables and cabinets from New England and New York City, signed Alexander Raux console and Belter chairs, an extremely rare Art Deco chair from the SS Normandy, etc.
 
And there are LOTS of period objects ranging in age from prehistoric Eskimo carvings through ancient  Mesopotamian, Oriental and Etruscan, through baroque and middle ages, early Edo period, right up to exquisite 20th century Murano glass and art pottery.
