"Coastal Flood Warning" ...Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from 7 PM to 11 PM EST this evening... * locations...low lying areas along western Long Island Sound. * Tidal departures...3 1/2 to 4 1/2 ft above astronomical tides in the evening. * Timing...moderate coastal flooding around the times of astronomical high tide...between 7 PM and 11 PM. * Coastal flood impacts...potential for widespread flooding of vulnerable shore roads and adjacent properties due to height of storm tide and wave action. Inundation of 1 to 2 ft in the lowest lying spots. Road closures may be needed. Isolated structural damage may be observed along the immediate shoreline. * Shoreline impacts...elevated water levels in combination with 3 to 5 ft of surf are expected to cause beach erosion and splashover along the shoreline this evening. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is expected or occurring. This year, you better not pout, and you better not cry - Santa Claus is coming to town, and he'll be making appearances right here on Long Island all season long! And, as you already know, he is going to find out if you are naughty or nice - so it's best to be on your best behavior this holiday season. Not long after Thanksgiving has come and gone, Santa will be coming to Long Island this year meet all the good girls and boys that have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to share their Christmas Wishes. Meeting Santa and telling him what you want for Christmas is a beloved  tradition that has been enjoyed around the world for generations, and this popular pastime continues to be a favorite of locals looking to get into the spirit of the season. Who can forget the excitement and the great photo opportunity?
 
Santa will be in visiting numerous locations all over the Island this year so that all of the local children who wish to talk to him before he has to get back to the North Pole in time for the Christmas delivery.
