In the latest program of the award-winning Exploring Critical Issues produced by Telecare Studios and hosted by Adelphi University President Dr. Robert A. Scott, a distinguished group of panelists looks at American society, our private and public values, expectations and ethics, and the changing definition of community as it relates to today's online social interaction.
Joined by Adelphi University Department of Sociology Professors Melanie Bush and Salvatore Primeggia, Adelphi University Department of Anthropology Professor Hanna H. Kim, and Mr. David Kapell, the former Mayor of the Village of Greenport, Long Island, NY, Dr. Scott leads the one-hour discussion that begins airing Saturday, November 26th.
Americans have long debated individualism vs. the collective good in our politics, economy and sense of community, stated Dr. Scott. My guests are astute observers of society and share their thoughts on whether community today still means a commonality of purpose once defined by terms such as 'neighborhood' or 'religious affiliation'.
