Thanksgiving is fast approaching, the time to eat and spend time with our families is almost here. However not everyone will be fortunate enough to enjoy a big meal this year.

There are a number of charities benefitting those that are less fortunate on Long Island. Although the holidays are certainly a busy time for everyone, it is important to take some time to do something for those in need. Not only will you benefit the community, but you can help relieve stress by volunteering or donation

Charity organizations are always looking for volunteers to help them prepare meals and do various other tasks for those in need. Here is a list of just some of the charity events happening on Long Island over the next few weeks leading to Thanksgiving. While some of these events are in need of help through volunteers, some of them will benefit just from people attending or making a donation.

Be sure to contact the organization for more information on how you can help.
