When it comes to picking out and making desserts for Thanksgiving having pie is a must. Pies are such a traditional Thanksgiving dish that it wouldn’t feel the same without taking at least one sweet bite from a tasty pie. There are so many different varieties of pie that you can make, so, to make things easier, we have compiled a mouthwatering collection of perfect pies for your Thanksgiving celebration.

Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie
This pie cleverly mixes together the salty taste of pecans with the sweet taste of chocolate.

Ingredients:

  • 9-in pie crust
  • 1 ½ cups halved pecans
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 1 cup light-brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ stick salted butter (melted)

Directions: Preheat the oven 375 degrees. Get out your crust and sprinkle pecans into the crust. Throw your chocolate chips, with a little bit of flour, into a bowl then pour your floured chips on top of the layer of pecans. Get out a larger bowl and combine your eggs, tbsp of flour, light-brown sugar, vanilla extract, corn syrup and butter. Pour this mixture over the chocolate chips and pecans. Bake the pie for approximately 70 minutes then let sit and cool for an hour.

Key Lime Coconut Pie
Enjoy this timeless classic pie with a coconut twist!

Ingredients:

  • 9-in pie crust
  • 13.5 oz unsweetened coconut milk
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 7 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 2 cups heavy cream (cold)
  • 2 tbsp confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 tbsp coconut shavings (toasted)

Directions: Heat up the oven to 325 degrees. Whisk together both milks, egg yolks and lime juice until smooth. Pour this into your crust and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the pie is set but still wobbly in the middle. Let the pie cool off for an hour and a half then move the pie over to the fridge for 3+ hours. Next use an electric mixer to beat the cream and sugar together until stiff. Add this to the top of your pie and garnish with toasted coconut shavings.

Sweet Potato Pie
Sweet potatoes aren’t just a traditional Thanksgiving side dish - they can be used in pie too!
Ingredients:

  • 10 graham crackers
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups sweet potato puree
  • ½ cup half and half
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp ground allspice
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions: Heat up your oven to 350 degrees. Use a food processor to finely grind up your graham crackers, ginger, salt and sugar. Next add in the butter and pulse your blender until the mixture forms into big, moist crumbs. Press this crust into a 9-in pie plate, filling the bottom and up the sides.

Combine eggs with ½ cup of sugar in a large bowl until mixed well. Now add in the sweet potato puree, half & half, vanilla extract, lemon juice, allspice and tsp of salt. Whisk all of this together until smooth, and then pour the filling onto the crust, smoothing the surface afterwards. Place your pie on a baking sheet on the lowest rack in your oven and bake for about 40-50 minutes, or until the filling is set. After baking let sit and cool for 2 hours.
