Here is a list of warming stations for Long Islanders who are still without electricity and heat following Hurricane Sandy.

As of 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, 700,000 LIPA customers have been reconnected to the power grid.  However, that still leaves over 200,000 customers and their families without electricity and heat as the temperature has already taken a dip and is expected to stay in the upper 40’s, low 50’s this week.

If you are a Long Islander still without electricity and heat, here is a list of warming stations available in Nassau and Suffolk counties:

Bethpage: Bethpage Library, 9 am-9pm, 47 Powell Ave.
Bethpage: Bethpage Senior Community Center, 9 am-9pm, 103 Grumman Road
Bellmore: Bellmore Library, 9 am-9pm, 2288 Bedford Ave.
East Meadow: Eisenhower Park, Nassau County Aquatic Center, Merrick Avenue south of Stewart Avenue, 8am-11am
Farmingdale: Farmingdale H.S., 24 hours a day, 15 Lincoln St. 9 am-9pm
Freeport: Nassau County Senior Center, 130 East Merrick Road 9 am-9pm
Freeport: Memorial Library 9 am-9pm, 144 W. Merrick Rd.
Great Neck:  Nassau County Senior Center, 80 Grace Ave.  9 am-9pm
Hicksville: Cantiague Park, West John Street, 8am-11am
Levittown: Levittown Memorial H.S., 24 hours a day, 520-5419 Hempstead Turnpike. 9 am-9pm
Magnolia Gardens: Nassau County Senior Center Magnolia Gardens, 899 Broadway,  9 am-9pm
Manhasset: Manhasset H.S., 24 hours a day, 200 Memorial Place.  9 am-9pm
Merrick: Library 9 am-9pm, 2279 Merrick Ave.
Oyster Bay: Nassau County Senior Center, 9 am-9pm
Uniondale: Mitchel Athletic Complex, Charles Lindbergh Blvd., 8am-11am
 
 
Suffolk County Warming Stations:
 
Monday to Friday: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
East Northport: Salvation Army, East Northport Service Center, 319 Clay Pitts Road, Daily, 10am – 8pm
Huntington: Central Presbyterian Church, 240 Main Street, Monday to Sunday, 10 a.m. – 3p.m.
Huntington: Temple Beth El, 660 Park Avenue, Sundays – 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.;
Huntington Station: St. Hugh of Lincoln R. C. Church, New York Avenue at East 9th Street,
Huntington Station: Light of Salvation Church, 1599 New York Avenue, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, Sunday: 9 am to 1pm
Huntington Station: YMCA, 60 Main St. 8 am-5pm
