It’s the weekend before Halloween. Come out to enjoy Halloween parties on Long Island, theater performance dinners, comedy and more! On Friday, there’s Doc’s Millennium annual Halloween costume party, a charity Halloween costume ball that goes to benefit the nonprofit Last Chance Animal Rescue and a comedy event taking place at the Boulton Center For The Performing Arts. On Saturday, there’s a ballet performance of the classic fairy tale story Cinderella at Ballet Long Island. It’s also Thriller Day at Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center in East Islip. There will be a dance event playing off of the famous “Thriller” dance by Michael Jackson. Also enjoy some fun at the Suffolk County Farm where it is hosting its annual pumpkin catapult contest. For Sunday, there’s a murder mystery dinner event at Butterfields Restaurant in Hauppauge, a Halloween bash at The Homestead in Oyster Bay where the band Rock It Fuel will be playing and an elegant ballroom dance show at Connetquot Public Library. Who: Doc’s Millennium 2nd Annual Halloween Costume Party At Swan Club
Info: Get on your Halloween costume for Doc’s Millennium annual Halloween party. Enjoy a lavish buffet with dessert and coffee, a large dance floor with DJ and prizes every hour for best ladies and men’s costumes.

Who: Halloween Costume Ball Benefitting Last Chance Animal Rescue
Info: This charity costume party goes to benefit Last Chance Animal Rescue, a 100% run nonprofit that is focused on rescuing animals in “kill” facilities. The event is suitable for the entire family. Enjoy a contest for best costume, games, raffles, prizes, music and food.

Who: Cinderella At Ballet Long Island
Info: Cinderella is a classic fairy tale story of a young lady with stepsisters who torment her and an evil stepmother. A fairy godmother and prince eventually comes to her rescue. Watch as the story is played through a ballet performance.
Cost: $16 For Adults; $6 For Children and Seniors

Who: Thrill The World Dance At Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center
Info: Thrill The World is an annual dance event playing off of the famous “Thriller” dance. It is an event that serves as a tribute to Michael Jackson and for charity. Weeks before Thriller Day, the public is welcome to sign up to learn choreography for the “Thriller” dance. On Thriller Day, it is performed for charity. Head over to watch and show support by bringing non-perishable food or making a monetary donation that will go to benefit local, national, and international charities.

Who: Pumpkin Fling At Suffolk County Farm
Info: This is an annual pumpkin catapult contest event. There’s a champion each year. Students and adults take part in designing, building and operating a mechanical device for flinging 3- to 5-pound pumpkins into an open field. The team that chucks the pumpkin the farthest becomes champion. There are also awards for Audience Favorite, Precision and more. Come out to enjoy the fun!

SUNDAY – OCTOBER 28, 2012

Who: Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Event By SoLuna Studio
Info: Your Sunday evening doesn’t have to be an ordinary dinner. Head over to Butterfields Restaurant where SoLuna Studio has put together a fun and interactive dinner with an intriguing murder mystery theater performance. Seating is limited and ticket reservations are required.

Who: Halloween Bash At The Homestead With Rock It Fuel

Who: Ballroom Dance at Connetquot Public Library
