State Parks Now Accepting Public Comments for the Governor Alfred E. Smith/ Sunken Meadow State Park Master Plan Through November 14

Kings Park, NY - October 16, 2014 - The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) Long Island Region will hold a public hearing regarding the Draft Master Plan and Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Governor Alfred E. Smith/Sunken Meadow State Park. State Parks encourages the public to participate in the planning efforts for the park and welcomes all comments on the draft plan.

The meeting will be held in the auditorium of the Kings Park High School, 200 New York 25A, Kings Park, NY 11754 on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 7:00 PM.

State Parks staff will make a brief presentation about the master plan and receive public comments.All persons interested in Sunken Meadow State Park are urged to attend; those who cannot attend may view the Draft Master Plan at one of the review locations including:

  • The Sunken Meadow State Park office, Rte. 25A and Sunken Meadow Parkway, Kings Park, NY 11754;
  • The State Parks Long Island Regional Headquarters, 625 Belmont Ave, Babylon, NY 11704;
  • The Smithtown Public Library – Kings Park Branch, 200 New York 25A, Kings Park, NY 11754;
  • Or on the OPRHP website
