4th Annual "Over 50 Fair"
If you’re over 50 and looking for some fun this weekend, you won’t want to miss the 4th Annual “Over 50 Fair” this Sunday at the Melville Marriott from 10AM-4PM! The fair will feature over 80 exhibitors and 30 classes and tons of information on everything Long Island has to offer adults over 50. Tickets are $8. A Night of Acoustic Music and Art
Looking for some music this weekend? Head on down to the Night of Acoustic Music and Art this Friday, September 27th, at Studio 5404 Art Space at 7:30PM! This event will feature artwork that has been inspired by Superstorm Sandy and original songs  that will be performed by Robinson Treacher and Scott Krokoff & the closing of the current show, "A Brush With Sandy.” There is a suggested donation of $5 and all money will go towards Sandy Relief. Long Island Apple Festival
As fall arrives, so does the season of apples! The Long Island Apple Festival will be happening this Sunday, September 29th, at Sherwood Jayne Farm! The festival will have  old fashioned games, traditional music, sheep sheering, kids apple crafts, fresh pressed apple cider, face painting, and hay rides.  Pricing is $7.00 Adults, $5 Children 2 - 12 & Seniors which includes a tour of the farm and free apple. The Long Island Crisis Center's 5th Annual "Let's Walk, Let's Talk" 5k
Sunday, September 29th from 11AM - 2PM at the Long Beach Boardwalk
Long Island Crisis Center's "5th Annual Let's Walk, Let's Talk...Stepping Together to Prevent Suicide" will be held on Sunday, September 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the newly-reopened Long Beach Boardwalk. A brief program will be held prior to the official start of the Walk: a family survivor of a suicide victim will speak; the Crisis Center's 2013 Person of the Year Award will be presented to Cathleen Cuneo-Seaquist, a resident of Port Washington; the Crisis Center's Linda Nadle Community Service Award will be presented to Maureen Coyle, a resident of Long Beach; Jenna Pasqua, songwriter and singer, will present musical tributes about bullying and suicide. There is a suggested minimum donation of $25 to participate in the Walk and attendees are encouraged to create teams and gather sponsors for their Walk. Raffle baskets and grand prizes will be part of this fundraising event that supports the 24/7 work of Long Island Crisis Center.
