This Halloween season the doors to the Hempstead House mansion will be unlocked and the spirits of those who once called the castle home will return. During the 1940’s, the Castle became an orphanage after the owner’s death in 1936. Children were refugees from losing their parents in World War II. After 10 years of operation, the orphanage closed for mysterious disappearances and complaints about children being tortured. Come if you dare!

Pumpkin Patches
Each Fall season there are pumpkins waiting to be picked at local pumpkin patches. It makes for a fun outing with the family, so head out and find that perfect pumpkin or two to start carving Jack O’ Lanterns or baking some pumpkin pie!

Rolling River Annual Fall Festival

Brightwaters Farms Fall Harvest Festival

Along this 12+ acre farm, you’ll get to indulge in freshly harvested fruits. You can also get your hands on the perfect pumpkin from its pumpkin patch. Fink's Country Farm Fall Festival

Don’t miss this fun family farm day festival! There’s the U-Pick pumpkin patch, a 7-acre corn maze, hayrides, train rides and additional attractions like the pumpkin slingshot, face painting, corn cannon and more! Baiting Halloween

Considering it’s their 19th fall season, you can bet year after year people have a reason to come back. SpookyWalk at Camp Paquatuck

This Spooky Walk started by the Moriches Paquatuck Squaws to benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck started in 1989. The haunted walk may not suit younger children - recommended for older children & adults.

Fall Family Freshwater Fishing Festival at Hempstead Lake State Park
