* until 1130 am EDT
* at 834 am EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding.
Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Islip, Brentwood, Levittown, Freeport, Commack, Riverhead, Long
Beach, Centereach, Shirley, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, Plainview,
Medford, Southold and Massapequa.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
areas and low lying spots.
