It was one of the worst weekends of the year at the movie box office. The Top 12 earned an estimated $51.9 million. To put it in perspective, that’s about half of Guardians of the Galaxy’s gross for its opening weekend back at the beginning of August.

Even though moviegoers were lacking this weekend, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ managed to pull in another $10.2 million – maintaining its position at the top of the box office.

The other top spots continued to be held by ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ in second place with $6.5 million, ‘If I Stay’ in third place with $5.8 million, ‘Let’s Be Cops’ in fourth place with $5.4 million, ‘The November Man’ in fifth place with $4.2 million, and ‘As Above, So Below’ in sixth place with $3.7 million.

‘The Identical’ being the only new nationwide release took in $1.9 million, holding 11th place at the box office.
