Even as the month of August comes to an end, the summer festivities on Long Island just keep going! For this edition of Hot Spots, don’t miss the great performances happening at the parks, an Elvis tribute spectacular show at NYCB Theatre at Westbury, a railroad festival, seafood festivals and much more! FRIDAY – AUGUST 23, 2013

Who: “In The Still Of The Night” At Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre At Eisenhower Park
Info: Enjoy an outdoor theater performance as part of the Blockbuster Summer Concert Series. Tonight, enjoy “In The Still of the Night,” featuring Fred Parris & The Five Satins, Frankie Lymon’s Teenagers, and Cool Change honoring The Knights of Columbus. Bring a folding chair and blanket with you for seating.

Who: Oldies Show At Eisenhower Park
Info: As part of the Nassau County Parks Summer Entertainment schedule, enjoy a show of rock n’ roll at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Concerts.

Who: Elvis Tribute Spectacular At NYCB Theatre At Westbury
Info: This Elvis tribute spectacular show features Shawn Klush and Cody Ray Slaughter with special guest DJ Fontana, The Sweet Inspirations and The Fabulous Ambassadors Band.

SATURDAY – AUGUST 24, 2013

Who: Riverhead Railroad Festival At Railroad Museum Of Long Island
Info: It’s going to be a fun family day for exciting railroad related activities. It’s a chance to see many operating toy train layouts in G, O, HO, and N scale including its own historic Lionel Toy Train layout. Also enjoy a ride on the 1964-1965 LIRR Pavilion World’s Fair train and much more. The festival continues through August 25.

Who: Making God Laugh At BayWay Arts Center
Info: Enjoy a performance about a couple of empty nesters who welcome home their children over various holidays spanning over 30 years.  There is tension and laughter that develops as the parents and children interact.

SUNDAY – AUGUST 25, 2013

Who: Blue Claw Crab Festival At Mastic Beach Marina
Info: Bring your growling stomach to this festival complete with fresh steamed shrimp, crabs, crab-cakes on the half shell, beer, wine and soda. There’s also music and dance performances to enjoy, as well as children’s activities like face-painting and sand art.

Who: Maritime Museum’s Seafood Festival
Info: Come by to enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and history of Long Island’s great south shore. It’s fun for the entire family with museum tours, live music, workshops, children activities, original art, stained glass, pottery, homemade soups, seafood and much more!
Cost: $8, Free For Children Age 5 And Under, Museum Members Receive $1 Off Admission

Who: Live Art, Drum & Dance Fest At Northport Village Park
Info: Rich Rivkin presents this festival featuring live art by 40 artists, painting to sounds of exotic world music while overlooking Northport Harbor. Everyone is encouraged to bring a hand drum or just dancing feet.
