Summer is drawing to an end, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Labor Day, which is celebrated the first Monday of September, gives us one last three day weekend to say goodbye to Summer. Luckily for Long Islanders, this year’s Labor Day Weekend is packed with tons of festivals, carnivals, and family fun.

Labor Day recognizes and commemorates the economic and social achievements of American workers throughout our nation’s history. This yearly national tribute to the hard work of the American people celebrates their strength, perseverance, and dedication to the growth and prosperity of our country.

For many people Labor Day Weekend also signifies the end of the summer and the beginning of back-to-school. This weekend is well-known for its myriad of parties, parades, festivals, carnivals, block parties, and barbecues. Use this holiday weekend to spend some quality time with your family or catch up with friends before everyone gets swamped with school and work. Have you completed the rest of your summer bucket list?

Here are a few different ways you can spend your long weekend and last hurrah before school starts up again.
