The Long Island Podcast Network at www.lipodcastnetwork.com has been podcasting for over 2 1/2 years and was the first company in Long Island to bring podcasting to the island. The Long Island Podcast Network is owned and operated by the successful, Long Island based web design firm, Hot Web Ideas (http://www.hotwebideas.com).

For those people who do not know what a podcast is, it is a digital audio or video broadcast. In other words, radio and TV are broadcasted through radio waves and cable. Audio and video podcasts are sent digitally through the internet via web sites such as the Long Island Podcast.

Now, with the dwindling prices for homes, homeowners are suffering when trying to sell their homes. Homeowners who purchased their homes using adjustable rate mortgages are losing equity, but most buyers in the market now, do not know the dangers of adjustable rate mortgages. Even more prevalent are the increased rate of short sells. Most buyers do not know what a short sell is. They just see a low price, call the broker, and are told it is a short sell. Short sells are better for investors, not those just buying a home.

Issues like these are the focus of the video podcasts produced by the Long Island Podcast Network (http://www.lipodcastnetwork.com). We interviewed Wells Fargo for questions about mortgages. The answers serve to educate home buyers who are currently in the market. We also performed an open house WALKTHROUGH VIDEO PODCAST. For those people who cannot afford the gas to drive to an open house, the LOng Island Podcast Network followed Paul Dougherty of Realty Executives, from Huntington, through an open house listing in North Babylon. A 4-part video series shows the entire house.

The podcast network will be releasing several podcast shows aimed at educating the Long Island Real Estate market with interviews from the mortgage experts, real estate broker open houses and more.
