Hi there! Welcome to the new Long Island Dating and Singles page. I thought I would start by telling you a little bit about me and what qualifies me to be an "expert".
My name is Jay and I am 33 years old. My singles expertise started to develop about two years ago, when I noticed that I was spending a lot of time at home. One by one, my close friends were getting married or engaged, and I had very few single friends left. I'm past the whole bar/club, getting drunk every night scene. So what is a single guy to do? You guessed it! I went Speed dating. At the time, their were no events on Long Island, so I went in Manhattan. I had so much fun that I decided to quench my entrepreneurial sprit and started my own company called Long Island Speed Dating LLC, (now operating as "Weekend Dating" since events are only held on the weekend).
By personally hosting almost every event since Valentines day 2003, I have learned a lot about the singles industry. Although I do not have any degrees in psychology, I frequently get calls from people talking about dating experiences, asking for advice, and venting about the opposite sex. I plan to share some of these stories with you, and am open to any suggested topics you may have. Stay tuned for the next article titled "The Bronx Tale Test".
