Time to get out there and enjoy all the summer entertainment on Long Island, running from music performances to sports like polo, tennis and yachting. Music performances cover top hits of the 80’s, blues, rock and New Orleans jazz. Stay on top of all there is to do at the end of the week on Long Island with Hot Spots: Weekend Watch every week! FRIDAY – JULY 11, 2014
Who: Glen Cove Downtown Sounds

Info: This weekly concert series is presented by the Glen Cove Downtown BID and the City of Glen Cove. The artist featured on this day is Mr. Marvin Douglas Floyd who began playing the organ at the age of 6. He currently is touring around the world with Ashanti with her new CD release Braveheart in which he produced a record “R.I.P.”

Who: Jessie’s Girl – Back To The 80’s Show At The Paramount
Info: Enjoy a lineup of rock and pop up-and-coming vocalist while they are backed up by veterans of the NYC music scene, including Eric Presti on guitar, Sky on keys, Drew Mortali on bass, and Michael Maenza on drums. Each veteran has performed with icons who have made famous music of the Eighties.

SATURDAY – JULY 12, 2014
Who: Smithtown Historical Society Blues Festival
Info:  Enjoy a blues festival featuring Long Island’s own blues artists Blue Roots, Da Blues and Dog House Blues Bands.
Cost: $30 For SHS Members; $35 For Non-Members

Who: Joplin’s Pearl Featuring Amber Ferrari Tribute to Legends of Rock & Janis Joplin
Info: Come see emerging talent Amber Ferrari in action! You’ll enjoy the music of Pat Benatar, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin and more as you take a trip back in time.
Cost: $20 to $40

Who: Orient Yacht Club Night Race

Who: Polo Match At Bethpage State Park Polo Fields
Info: Enjoy an exciting match of polo outdoors with friends and family!

Who: New Orleans Jazz With The Dirty Dozen Brass Band At The Suffolk Theater
Info: The Dirty Dozen Brass Band was established in 1977. This brass band incorporates funk and bebop into traditional New Orleans jazz style.

Who: Tennis Tournament At Hempstead Lake State Park
Info: Enjoy a game of tennis! Tournaments run daily.
