Garden City, NY-based benefits and risk management consultants, Chernoff Diamond & Co., LLC, have announced the appointment of Cheryl White-Leys to the position of senior risk consultant in the firm's Risk Management Services division, where experienced risk management and insurance professionals identify risk, examine the adequacy of existing programs and develop customized solutions to reduce exposure, eliminate duplicate coverage and minimize premiums.

In this capacity, White-Leys is primarily responsible for servicing and marketing new and existing business, customer service, rating, client review meetings, and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers.

ABOUT CHERYL WHITE-LEYS
Cheryl White-Leys, who holds a New York State property and casualty broker's license and a life and accident agent's license, joined Chernoff Diamond in May 2011, bringing with her nearly 25 years' experience as a commercial lines account executive. Most recently, she was associated with Garden City-based Sobel Affiliates, (Brown & Brown of Garden City, Inc.), where she served as director of marketing in addition to her role as commercial lines account manager. Earlier in her career, White-Leys worked at Filos Agency and Louis D. Krasner, Inc.

She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance degree from Adelphi University, which she pursued while working full-time. White-Leys grew up in Baldwin, NY, attending Baldwin High School. She now resides in Oceanside, NY with her husband James Leys, an employee of the Village of Freeport, and their children Emily Leys, age 9 and Zachary White, age 16, as well as the family's pet, Kerry, an eight year old boxer. White-Leys' interests include travel, water activities and spending time on Long Island's beaches.
