LI’s Adorable Adoptable Pets: GG is the Handsome Older Cat You’ve Been Waiting For

Written by Lyndsay McCabe  |  19. June 2014

For Adopt-a-Cat Month, do not forget about the kitties in their golden years who still have years of love and affection to give.  This week, GG from Last Chance Animal Rescue shows that gray still looks good on an older cat.

GG, or Mr. G as he is often called, is a ten year old gray tabby/British shorthair mix who is currently being fostered by a volunteer, but he is looking to live out the rest of his life with a family of his own.  GG takes a bit of time to warm up to people, but once he gets to know you, he becomes an absolute mush.  He loves to sleep on your lap or in a window, and he also enjoys catnip and drinking water from the faucet.

This big boy gets along well with children, and is sweet and gentle with them.  GG does not get along with dogs, and gets along with some cats as long as they give him his space. He is sometimes a bit skittish because he is nervous after having his front paws declawed, which keeps him from being able to defend himself if need be.

GG is neutered, litter box trained, and up-to-date with his routine vaccinations. For more information about adoption sweet GG, click here.

Last Chance Animal Rescue is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organization located out of Southampton which rescues animals from “kill” facilities – many of which are rural shelters in southern states – and underwrites the costs of relocating them to “no-kill” facilities and foster homes with the goal of adopting them into a forever family.  For information about adoption, fostering animals, or volunteering with LCAR, click here.
