LI’s Adorable Adoptable Pets: Madison is the Shy Sweetheart You’ve Been Waiting For

Written by Lyndsay McCabe  |  04. June 2014

When you look at animals in shelters, often the ones left behind are not overlooked because of bad behaviors – some are just shy, and might fade into the scenery when a family or potential owner comes to visit.  That is how Madison has felt for years, and A Home Fur Now Rescue is trying to get her placed with a family that will help her come out of her shell, and this year’s adopt-a-cat month just might be her time to shine.

Madison is a beautiful long-haired cat with black and white fur.  She is only three and a half years old, and she spent a full year of her life with the rescue group after she was pulled along with three other cats from a hoarding situation.  Volunteers describe Madison as sweet, and say that she loves to be pet, but that she is also shy, and would do best in a quiet home where she can build her confidence with owners that understand that it is okay for her to be shy so that she can open up in her own time.

Madison is spayed, house-trained, and up-to-date with all of her routine shots.

A Home Fur Now is a not-for-profit rescue that relies solely on foster homes to care for their animals.  Their mission is to save the strays, throwaways, and shelter animals and to improve their lives through medical care, spaying and neutering, and finding families that would be compatible with these pets.  On June 22, A Home Fur Now will be hosting a fundraiser at the Maples Family BBQ in Manorville, which will include hotdogs, hamburgers, a live band, and free admission for kids.  Click here for more information.
