The 26th annual Smithtown Festival Day, hosted by the Smithtown Chamber of Commerce,  was held this past Sunday, providing an afternoon full of crafts, food, activities, and all kinds of fun for all who came.  As vendors lines main street visitors were treated to baked treats and delicious lunches from the local restaurants and eateries, live music filled the air, and mascots walked the street.

Kids from a local dance school put on a show, the fire department brought out some classic trucks, and a few martial arts schools even brought out some floor mats so they could spar in front of the crowd. Visitors who wanted to take a break from walking in the sun were able to stop at the booth of one massage parlor and relax with a free massage.

From novelty t-shirts and hats to locally produced honey and handmade jewelry, there were plenty of crafts to pick from for anyone looking to bring home some sweet goodies or new clothes, and kids had their pick of many toys and novelties.  Many residents brought their canine companions out for a leisurely stroll through Smithtown, as did several pet charities and adoption agencies such as Grateful Greyhounds.

Smithtown’s 26th annual Festival Day was as great a success as ever, and with a bright sun and warm air providing idyllic spring weather it’s no wonder that Long Islanders came out in droves to take part in all the festivities.
