Though Long Island has an endless supply of beach area not all beaches make for everyone’s cup on tea. While beaches on the North Shore are less known for their waves and more for their rocky landscape, South Shore beaches have a smoother layout and are prime for surfers and other water activities. Some beaches are open to the public while others are private with entrance permitted only with a town sticker. Today we present to you a list of the some of the best beaches on Long Island’s North Shore.  Spend a day swimming, relaxing, seashell hunting or simply soaking up the sun.
