Incorporating butterflies into your spring wedding will make for the ideal theme for your big day! Check out these helpful recommendations.
Butterflies are not only beautiful creatures, but they add a wonderful touch to the spring time air that we crave for all winter long. If you’re planning a spring wedding and can’t think of a good theme, butterflies are a wonderfully bright way to go!
Going with a butterfly styled wedding will add a whimsical and colorful feel to your special day. You can include a color theme and incorporate it into the butterfly designs if you wish, or you can do something more unique and use diamond butterflies! Butterflies made of diamonds will add a classy and elegant touch to your wedding. If you’re interested in something more outdoorsy and casual, the colorful butterflies are the theme for you! Check out these great suggestions to help plan your butterfly themed wedding:
For butterfly themed wedding invitations, you can keep it as casual and simple as you’d like, or you can go all out. For something simple, create a clean, white invitation with butterflies surrounding the lettering. Be sure not to add too many butterflies though, you want to make sure the font pops as well. If you want to do a bit more with the theme, create a fun butterfly shaped invite. It can be folded right down the middle so it fits nicely into the envelope, then when your guests open it, it will open up into a beautiful butterfly!
Your seating cards are a small detail to your big day but each small detail makes a large impact! You want to incorporate your theme into all the details so everything flows smoothly. Be sure to set up the seating cards near the entrance for your guests to easily grab when they come in. Instead of just having a simple card with the names on it, use butterfly shaped cards or add a 3D butterfly to the corner of the card.
Your decor includes anything from lighting to tables and chairs. If you’re having an indoor wedding, a neat idea is to hang butterflies from the ceiling. You can hang the mini butterflies from a white ribbon and make all of them white so they really stand out or you can have them match your wedding colors. Dress up the back of the chairs by adding a chic ribbon or sash with a 3D butterfly in the center of it.
When arranging flowers for a wedding, most people think bouquets just have to include flowers, but you can add any touches you’d like to put your own personal touch on things. Butterflies go perfectly with flowers so add a few to your bouquet to have your theme stand out while walking down the aisle. The butterflies will fall beautifully onto the bunch of flowers and will look great in photos, too!
When it comes to centerpieces, there are so many different ideas you can choose when incorporating butterflies. You can have a floral arrangement with butterflies placed on it, or put 3D butterflies into a mason jar or an upside down wine glass! Using an upside down wine glass is a unique idea and leaves you room to place something on top of it as well, such as a candle. This centerpiece idea won’t break the bank either, local dollar stores sell wine glasses that are pretty durable and will look great as a centerpiece. If you are interested in an outdoorsy centerpiece, purchase fake branches to place in the middle of the table with butterflies “flying” around it. Another simple idea that makes a large statement!
Favors are a generous way of showing your thank to your loyal guests. Be sure to choose a favor they will be able to enjoy and put to use. Purchase butterfly bottle stoppers so your friends will thank you next time they have a glass of wine! Another idea is to set up a mini box of goodies (candies, candles, etc.) and decorate it with butterflies. You can choose anything you’d like and just decorate it with butterfly decor!
These great recommendations will help make the wedding planning process a bit easier. Remember, you can add your own touch to these ideas to make them exactly the way you want them!
