This week’s Hot Spots is complete with information for dining, entertainment, performances, sports, cooking and more! For the whole week, enjoy 3-course prix-fixe dinner options through Long Island’s Annual Spring Restaurant Week. There’s also entertainment to enjoy like open mic night at Four Doors Down Sports Bar. Performances scheduled this week include Limp Bizkit at The Paramount and the Comedy of Errors at Nassau Community College. There’s also the baseball game with the Long Island Ducks and Somerset Patriots. At public libraries, some interesting events include education on trees and a cooking demo on tapas. MONDAY – APRIL 29, 2013

Who: Long Island’s Annual Spring Restaurant Week
Info: Select from over 150 restaurants on Long Island to make dinner plans each day of the week. Long Island’s Annual Spring Restaurant Week is running now through May 5th. Enjoy 3-course prix-fixe dinners. Details on participating restaurants are available here.
Cost: $27.95 Per Person

Who: Arbor Day: Trees Are Terrific at Sachem Public Library
Info: Learn about the trees found on Long Island and why they are essential to our life. It’s also an opportunity to learn about what to plant in your yard that will help local wildlife and increase your property’s value. The session will be led by nature educator Sue Krause.

TUESDAY – APRIL 30, 2013

Who: “Chasing Ice” At Cinema Arts Centre
Info: The documentary follows acclaimed environmental photographer, James Balog. The documentary includes years of hauntingly beautiful videos compressed into seconds with views of ancient mountains of ice disappearing.

Who: Limp Bizkit At The Paramount
Info: Limp Bizkit has been hiatus for eight years. Now, the American metal band is back with Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Sam Rivers, John Otto, and DJ Lethal.

WEDNESDAY – MAY 1, 2013

Who: Open Mic Night With Chris Hurley At Four Doors Down Sports Bar
Info: Enjoy a night of fun with veteran musician Chris Hurley. It’s your chance to show off your vocal chops.

Who: Long Island Ducks Vs. Somerset Patriots At Bethpage Ballpark
Info: Enjoy a night of baseball. The Long Island Ducks has a home game playing against the Somerset Patriots.

THURSDAY – MAY 2, 2013

Who: Cooking Demo – Tapas At Oceanside Library
Info: Chef Rich Kanowsky will be on hand to discuss how tapas originated and provide a demonstration of how it is assembled. This event allows you to work in groups to create a delicious platter of tapas to enjoy together. You’ll also get recipes to take home with you and advice on how to throw your own tapas party. Registration is required.

Who: The Comedy of Errors At Nassau Community College
Info: This theater performance follows Shakespeare’s comedy. It tells the story of two sets of identical twins accidentally separated at birth.
