It’s the start of Spring Break for many, and that means getting out and enjoying all that Long Island has to offer! The end of the week on Long Island is packed with entertainment, running from musicals – romantic, comedy, and more – to family festivals, a street fair, a comedy night and gospel music to celebrate Palm Sunday at The Suffolk Theater. FRIDAY – APRIL 11, 2014
Who: Bayport-Blue Point Chamber’s Family Festival At Bayport-Blue Point High School

Info: Enjoy this family festival running through April 13th. There are games, food, rides and fireworks on Friday night!
Cost: Free Event, Pay Per Ride
Time & Place: 6PM to 9PM (Friday), 1PM to 9PM (Saturday), 12PM to 5PM (Sunday) at Bayport-Blue High School Athletic Field, 200 Snedecor Avenue, Bayport

Who: Kiss Me, Kate – The Musical At Dix Hills Performing Arts Center

Info: This musical comedy had its opening on Broadway back in 1948. It has won over 10 Tony Awards. The musical comedy recounts the backstage and onstage antics of two feuding romantic couples during a touring production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew.
Cost: $18, $15 For Seniors and Students

Who: Ragtime – The Musical At Cultural Arts Playhouse
Info: This musical is based on the 1975 novel by E. L. Doctorow, telling the story of American history and culture in the early 20th century.
Cost: $20 For Advance Ticket, $25 At The Door

SATURDAY – APRIL 12, 2014
Who: North Fork Horseradish Festival At Hallock Museum Farm
Info: It’s all about horseradish today! There are contests, demonstrations, shopping and fun for the entire family, including a horseradish soup contest, horseradish sauce and dip contest, a “Bloody Mary” contest and demonstrations that include horseradish in cooking. The kids will also have fun with an egg hunt, potato sack race, and ‘Build Your Own Mr. Potato Head’ workshop. This all happens with live music provided and the museum’s friendly livestock out for display.

Who: Spring Festival At The Common Ground
Info: The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce presents the Spring Festival! Meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy fun activities, including paint ceramics, a scavenger hunt, a bonnet contest, face painting, a petting zoo, a magic show, treats and more!
Cost: Free Event, $3 Per Child For Paint Ceramics

Who: Comedian Charles Murphy At Governors Comedy Club
Info:  Enjoy a night of laughter with comedian Charles Murphy performing live! You must be 18 or older to attend and there is a 2 beverage minimum per person at the tables.

SUNDAY – APRIL 13, 2014
Who: 7th Annual Street Fair On The Green At Eisenhower Park
Info: This annual New York street fair offers a unique family shopping experience. Vendors include local artisans offering handmade and handpicked items.

Who: The Music Man At John W. Engeman Theater At Northport
Info: This romantic musical is set in River City, Iowa, centering on a fast-talking con man who sells boys’ band instruments and uniforms to naïve townsfolk. The man’s life is turned when a prim librarian transforms him into a respectable citizen.

Who: Palm Sunday Gospel Fest At The Suffolk Theater
Info: Get ready to be moved by the power of Gospel as three large gospel choirs join together to celebrate Palm Sunday!
