Colorful & Fun Easter Crafts the Whole Family can Get Egg-cited About!

Easter is a holiday that children can really enjoy and partake in. There’s the painting of the eggs, decorating your home with bunnies and lots of pastel colors, church outings and of course, the candy! Make this Easter even more enjoyable for the kids by having them participate in some fun crafts all throughout the month.

While you’re helping the kids with the crafts, it is a good time to discuss what Easter is really all about. Let it be a learning experience for them as well and get them to understand the actual meaning behind the holiday. So, check out these fun Easter crafts that will surely be enjoyed by the entire family!

Egg Carton Easter Chicks
Enjoy this fun and simple craft that allows you to reuse all those egg cartons you have bought in preparation of Easter!

This craft is suitable for elementary aged children and older with the help of a parent.

You Will Need:

  • Egg carton
  • Yellow paint
  • Black marker
  • Yellow and orange cardstock

Instructions:
To make each chick:

1. Cut two egg carton cups. Glue a small piece of paper to each half, acting as a hinge. Make sure the paper is not too large.
2. Paint the carton cups throughout so the whole thing is yellow.
3. Take small pieces of cardstock, two orange and two yellow, each measuring about 1” x ½”
4. Fold a ¼” flap from the edge then fold and cut into triangles.
5. Attach one yellow triangle on each side of the inner bottom egg carton cup.
6. Attach one orange triangle on the front of the inner top and another on the inner bottom egg carton cup.
7. Cut orange card stock into feet and adhere to the bottom cup. Take a black marker and draw small eyes.
8. Fill with candy treats and give to your loved ones or use as decoration!

Footprint Bunny Ears
Prepare to get messy with this neat bunny ears craft, perfect for children of any age!

This craft is suitable for children of all ages with the help of a parent.

You Will Need:

  • Paint (color of your choice)
  • Black marker
  • White paper or construction paper
  • Your children’s tiny feet

Instructions:
1. Pour the paint onto a sheet of paper or newspaper and have the kids stick their feet in it.
2. Once their feet are completely wet, have them step onto the clean, white sheet of paper.
3. Their footprints will represent the bunny ears, so make sure they are far enough apart so you can tell what it is.
4. Below the ears, use the paint to create the bunny’s circular face.
5. Add some eyes and whiskers with a black marker once the paint is dried.
6. Once completed, hang on the fridge or in the kid’s rooms as an Easter decoration!

Easter Egg Sun Catchers
This transparent egg craft is an ideal way to add some Easter color to your yard this month!

This craft is suitable for children ages 7 and older.

You Will Need:

  • Clear contact/shelf paper
  • Ribbon
  • Hole Punch
  • Collage Materials (tissue, sequins, feathers, glitter, ribbons, etc.)
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • 2 identical egg shaped paper templates

Instructions:
1. Cut out two egg shaped templates and tape one to your work surface.
2. Cut out two rectangles slightly larger than your egg template.
3. Peel off the backing of one and lay sticky side up over the egg template.
4. Tape down on each end so it doesn’t slide around.
5. Start adding all your collage material (be sure they’re all inside the egg and not around the edges. This way it is easier to get a good seal once you are finished.
6. Cut out your egg by either: using a marker and outlining the shape of it, or by using the second egg template as a guide.
7. Un-tape the plastic sticky paper collage.
8. Leave the egg template taped to board for the next collage egg.
9. Cut out the egg and repeat as many times as desired.
10. Use the hole punch to put a hole through the top of the egg.
11. Hang in your yard with some festive ribbon.


Participating in crafts together can be a great bonding experience and the crafts can be used as decorations for years to come!
