The committee behind the Riverhead Blues festival recently announced that they will not be holding their annual event this year, but blues fans should fear not, as the Lupus Alliance of America LIQ Affiliate will once again be holding their Blues on the Bay for Lupus, Sunday, July 31st at the Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville.

The attendees at the Lupus Alliance`s inaugural Blues event in 2010 had a wonderful time listening to the 5 fantastic bands, eating lots of great food and buying from the various vendors. This year, the Lupus Alliance has decided to extend the hours of the festival from 12 noon-8pm, allowing for 7 bands, and even more fun for this great day.

Some of the bands lined up so far, are the Red, White and Blues Band, The Roadhouse Band and BigDaddy & The Bulldogs. Other bands and vendors will be announced as they are booked. If you would like to volunteer your band for this event, please call the Lupus office. Advance ticket prices are: $20 per person, $10 for kids under 15 years old, and a Family Pack for $50 which includes 2 adults, and up to 4 kids under 15 yrs. Advance tickets are on sale now at the Alliance website, or by calling 1-800-850-9000.

The Lupus Alliance is currently seeking vendors of all kinds including, crafts, arts, jewelry, antiques, food, clothing and more. If you are a vendor/restaurant or know someone who is and would like to participate in this event, please contact the Lupus Alliance at 516-783-3370, or visit their website at www.lupusliqueens.org/bluesonthebay2 and download the vendor application. Vending Spaces, are 10X10, and include a table and 2 chairs are $100.00 for the day.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Lupus Alliance of America LIQ Affiliate`s programs which include support groups, financial assistance, kids programs and educational events, as well as to novel research into the cause and cure for lupus. Bring the kids, grab your friends and enjoy the day with food, music, fun and more!
