HUNTINGTON, NY - March 31, 2011 - Family Service League has named Katharine Posillico McGowan to its Board of Directors according to an announcement by Karen Boorshtein, president and chief executive officer of the Huntington, NY-based social services organization.

Ms. Posillico McGowan, a Huntington resident, is owner of Katharine Jessica Interior Design with locations in Manhattan and on Long Island. Her work has been recognized in a number of national and regional design publications including Distinction Magazine and New York Spaces, who named her one of "10 New Designers Under 40 to Watch." She is a graduate of Lehigh University and has studied at the New York School of Interior Design.

No stranger to FSL, Ms. Posillico McGowan has served as a committee member and co-chair of Great Chefs of Long Island, FSL's premier fundraising event and has been active with the FSL Development Committee. She has also been involved with several other charitable organizations on Long Island and in New York City.

"Katharine's entrepreneurial spirit, business sense, and her great compassion will be an added plus to our board," said Ms. Boorshtein. "Her longstanding involvement with FSL will help strengthen our mission and her fundraising skills will help support FSL's programs and initiatives."
