April has arrived and Long Island continues with tons of entertainment! On Monday, head over to Garvies Point Museum and Preserve for its Gemstone of the Month exhibit featuring diamonds. For the evening, enjoy karaoke at The Nest Bar & Lounge. On Tuesday, the Hofstra Cultural Center has its lecture tribute to Frank Sinatra. The New York Islanders also has a game with the Winnipeg Jets hosted at Nassau Coliseum. On Wednesday, check out the Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival at Nassau Coliseum and Don Henley’s live performance at The Paramount. On Thursday, learn about Indian cooking and the health benefits of certain spices through a library event hosted at Hewlett-Woodmere Library. For Thursday evening, catch the Beach Boys perform at NYCB Theatre at Westbury. Check out the details below!

MONDAY – APRIL 1, 2013

Who: Gemstone Of The Month Exhibit At Garvies Point Museum And Preserve
Info: As the saying goes, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” Head over to view an exhibit that beautifully displays the April birthstone – diamonds. Each 1st of the month, the museum offers the “Gemstone of the Month” exhibit.

Who: Italian American Experience Lecture Series – Frank Sinatra At Hofstra University
Info: The Hofstra Cultural Center presents a tribute to Frank Sinatra as part of its Italian-American Experience Lecture Series. Speaking will be Mark Rotella, author of Amore: The Story of Italian American Song. The event pays homage to the tradition of the Italian-American singer.
