Spring is just around the corner, and now that we can officially begin looking forward to warmer weather, biking enthusiast on Long Island can start hitting the many bike paths that are offered in our area.
 
So where do you want to go this season? Here is a list of some of the best biking paths you can find throughout Long Island. Remember to be safe and enjoy!
 
Belmont Lake State Park
North Babylon
Not only can you go biking through this state park, but you can also find areas for boating, fishing, hiking and horseback riding.
 
Bethpage State Park
Farmingdale
While most people think of Bethpage’s amazing golf courses, you can also find some very scenic bike trails stretching throughout this park.
 
Cedar Creek Park
Seaford
The paved path at Cedar Creek offers a great trail to Jones Beach for bikers, hikers and joggers.
 
Cold Spring Harbor State Park
Cold Spring Harbor
This park is made up of 40 acres, offering hilly terrain and scenic views of the forested area.
 
Fire Island Lighthouse and Seashore
Fire Island
While there are no designated bike paths around the lighthouse, you are permitted to ride some of the paths along the shore. Just remember that you may be charged extra for taking your bike on the ferry.
 
Massapequa Preserve
Massapequa
This preserve runs from Merrick Road to Linden Boulevard. Be sure to take the Greenbelt Trail, which runs through the woodland areas of the preserve.
 
Hither Hills State Park
Montauk
Montauk offer some of the best beaches and ocean views on Long Island. The bike trial in Hither Hills in not only scenic, but also has picnic areas and places to fish and play throughout the trail system.
