Join the Lupus Alliance of America LIQ Affiliate on Sunday, March 27th 2011 at the Farmingdale Lanes for a fun-filled day of family, friends and fundraising! Strike Out Lupus will be from 2-5pm and will include free parking, free shoe rental, a personal pizza or hot dog, drink, as much bowling as you can do in three hours, prizes for hitting special pins, fantastic raffle baskets and a 50/50. The cost of the event is $25.00 per person, or get a family four pack for $85.00 (which includes 2 adults and 2 children under 16). All proceeds from this event will go towards the Lupus Alliance`s many programs to help those living with lupus in our local area.
The Alliance is also looking for local businesses that would like to show their support for their neighbors, friends and loved ones who have lupus by becoming a lane sponsor for $100.00. Each lane sponsor will have their company name and logo on their own lane through the entire event. Lane sponsors will also get their name and logo on the Lupus Alliance of LIQ`s website and will be mentioned with a link to their company website on the Alliance`s facebook page.
Businesses can also become event sponsors for $250.00. Event sponsors not only get the lane sponsorship listed above, but can also have a table at the event where they display their company information, and offer their products, and services to the event attendees. The Lupus Alliance of America LIQ Affiliate is a local non-profit 501c 3 organization that has been serving those living with lupus since 1955. Their services include education day`s that teach those living with lupus how to cope with their disease, support groups, telephone counseling, informational brochures and packets, up-to-date informative website, seminars, doctor referral lists, kids programs and more. Every dollar raised at events like Strike Out Lupus fund these programs as well as help the Alliance support novel research into the cause and cure of lupus.
Lupus affects over 2 million Americans, has no known cure, and hasn't had a medication specifically designed or approved for it in over fifty years.
