Across the world St. Patrick’s Day, the saint’s religious feast day and anniversary of his death, is celebrated on March 17th. For over 1,000 years the Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday. Nowadays however, especially here in the United States, St. Patrick’s Day has transformed from a traditional, Irish, religious holiday to something much more festive, fun for everyone, and of course, covered in green! From eating St. Patrick’s Day food staples like corned beef and cabbage, to listening to traditional Irish music, there’s plenty of fun things to do on Long Island in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day!
