Hot Spots: Weekend Watch for January 25 through January 27

Whether you’re looking for thrill-seeking adventure or entertainment where you can sit back and relax, we have it for you! On Friday, there’s Monster Jam 2013 taking place at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It’s also songwriters night at Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts and comedian Jim David is performing at Governors of Levittown. On Saturday, head over to Adelphi University where the Retreat for Relief Fundraiser Event is taking place. During the evening, enjoy performances by Joe Piscopo at Dix Hills Performing Arts Center or Hairspray The Musical at Cultural Arts Playhouse. On Sunday, get ready to be amazed by the performance of The Ugly Duckling & The Tortoise And The Hare that integrates digital technology and wires and lights with its characters. There’s also a new exhibit opening at Art League of Long Island featuring works of art created in clay and water-mediums. For the evening, Hot Water Music is performing at The Paramount. FRIDAY – JANUARY 25, 2013

Who: Monster Jam 2013 At Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum
Info: Don’t miss an action-packed show of monster trucks showing off destruction like you’ve never seen before. The show will feature Grave Digger, Monster Mutt, Grinder, El Toro Loco, Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, Aftershock and Storm Damage. The show continues here on Long Island through January 27.

Who: Songwriters Night At Babylon Citizens Council On The Arts
Info: Every fourth Friday is Songwriters Night at BACCA. It presents the best musicians and songwriters of different musical genres, including the blues, jazz, folk, world music and more.

Who: Jim David At Governors of Levittown

Info: Enjoy the legendary stories with digital technology integrated in the performance. There’s also music from classical, jazz, to pop. The characters take on new form with wires of light.

Who: “Earth And Water” And Exhibition Of Ceramics And Water-Media At Art League Of Long Island
Info: Today is the start of this new exhibit that offers visual excitement through art created by eight contemporary Long Island artists. The works of art are either created in clay or water-mediums.
