A couple making the most of a beautiful snowy day.

February is the shortest month, but it is also jam-packed with holidays, celebrations, and special events. Besides the usual fairs, festivals, and music events, we have rounded up the best in Super Bowl parties, a variety of romantic ways to spend Valentine’s Weekend, and even educational and artistic programs on the history of African Americans on Long Island.

February’s fairs and festivals are catering to more niche groups, but present rare opportunities to celebrate your interests, whether they be antique-seeking or craft beers.  The Cradle of Aviation Museum is hosting their Hops and Props Craft Beer Festival, which offers the best in craft beers from around the United States and around the world, all on draft!

The month kicks off with Groundhog Day on February 2nd, and Long Islanders are perfectly equipped to get an up-close and personal view of famed local groundhogs, Holtsville Hal and Malverne Mel.  After they predict the arrival of Spring, get ready for the Super Bowl on February 7th!  Party down at Changing Times in Northport or one of the many other bars and breweries hosting special deals on drinks and appetizers while you watch the game.

Don’t forget to start planning your Valentine’s Day date early with our extensive list of restaurants and venues featuring special dinners and events.  Whether you and your loved one have just started dating, or you have been together for years, there is something fun to do together to ignite that spark! Heat up the night with a classy dinner dance at East Wind, or celebrate the sweetest of things with chocolate and wine at the Long Island Aquarium!  There are also dinners galore with three- to five-course meals that will provide the perfect ambiance for your date.

Make the most of your next month by filling up your schedule with these fun, romantic, and educational events!
